Seasonal Updates

Winter Glamping: What to Expect

We’re excited to welcome you for your winter glamping getaway on the shores of Lake Erie. As temperatures drop, we want to help you stay warm, comfortable, and fully prepared for your stay.

Staying Warm & Comfortable

All domes are insulated and heated. However, during extreme cold, temperatures may dip slightly — particularly in our Lakeview and Lakefront Domes, which are more exposed to lake winds.

We recommend bringing:

  • Warm layers, cozy socks, and robes

  • A winter coat for exploring the grounds

  • Extra blankets and hand warmers for added comfort

Heating System Information

Our domes are heated by mini-split units that automatically enter defrost mode every few hours. This is completely normal and lasts approximately 2–5 minutes.

During this time:

  • The mini-split will pause briefly

  • Your secondary electric fireplace will continue operating to maintain warmth

No action is required.

Important: Electrical Limitations

To prevent power interruptions, please do not bring or use:

  • Space heaters or heated blankets (may overload the system)

  • Kettles or coffee makers inside the dome (outlets cannot support high wattage appliances)

Hot water for tea is available at our water cooler.
Personal coffee machines may be used in the Yoga Room only.

Indoor Comfort Tips

We recommend bringing:

  • Slippers or indoor shoes

  • Books, journals, or card games for a cozy evening by the fire

And don’t forget your swimsuit — our hot tubs, heated pool, and cedar saunas are open year-round.
