A One-of-a-Kind Lakeside Winter Escape

Winter Glamping Awaits...

Glamping doesn’t end when the temperatures drop at Lungovita, winter is one of the most unique seasons to experience the beauty of Essex County.  Tucked along the shores of Lake Erie, our retreat transforms into a cozy, snow-dusted escape. Here, you’ll wake up in a warm geodesic dome, step outside to crisp winter air, and relax into heated pools, bubbling hot tubs, and cedar saunas — all while gazing out at the endless lake horizon.

Tips for Winter Glamping at Lungovita

Glamping in the colder months is a little different from summer — but with the right prep, it’s even more rewarding. Here are our top tips for making the most of your stay:

  1. Pack Layers: Even though your dome is heated, you’ll want warm layers, cozy socks, robes, and a good winter coat for exploring the grounds.

  2. Bring Slippers or Indoor Shoes: Keep extra comfy inside your dome.

  3. Take Advantage of the Amenities: Our heated pool, hot tubs, and cedar saunas are designed for crisp-weather relaxation — don’t forget your swimsuit!

  4. Plan Cozy Evenings: Pack your favourite books, card games, or journals for relaxing nights by the fire.

  5. Embrace the Season: The beauty of winter glamping is in slowing down, breathing in the fresh air, and enjoying the stillness of the lake.

Important: What Not to Bring
To help keep your dome’s power running smoothly, please avoid:

  • Space heaters or heated blankets (can overload the system)

  • Kettles or coffee makers inside the dome (the outlets can’t support high wattage)

Hot water for tea is available from our water cooler, and if you’d like to bring your own coffee machine, it can be used in the Yoga Room.

Winter Season Disclaimers

  • Please note that the 4M domes are located directly on the lake and may experience cooler temperatures, especially during colder months. Guests should come prepared for a chillier stay and pack accordingly for maximum comfort.

  • Our domes are heated by mini split units that will briefly enter defrost mode every few hours. This is normal and lasts only 2–5 minutes. Each dome also has a secondary electric fireplace that will continue to run during this time to maintain warmth.
